Directions
Apply 2 drops of gel to each side of the pet's mouth. Apply directly to the teeth with plaque buildup. Use once daily. You'll soon notice your pet licking their lips repeatedly. This is normal and helps the gel to mix with saliva and coat all surfaces of your pet's teeth and gums. For maximum effect, withhold food and water for 30 minutes before and after treatment. Tooth brushing is not necessary but will speed up the removal of softened plaque and tartar. Ordinarily, after 30 days, application can be reduced to twice weekly for regular maintenance.

Gives old dogs new bite

Won't remove years of buildup on its own, but it does a decent job controlling doggy breath and preventing further gunk coating the teeth. My dog hates the taste of it but I found a way to apply it with my thumbs on the sides of her molars just before her favourite thing: walkies. After 6 months' nightly application (this review is for my second purchase of the same product), there is some improvement on some teeth. We have to combine this strategy with rib bones that actually scrape off tartar as she chews. Overall: imperfect solution, but I'd take it over $800+ scaling and extraction procedures under sedation. (Dog is an 11-year-old mongrel adopted a year ago, in good health but with a history of never having had dental cleaning.)
