FRONTLINE Plus For Dogs contains fipronil and the insect growth regulator (IGR) (S)-methoprene. Insect growth regulators interrupt or inhibit the life cycle of a pest. Flea eggs and flea larvae that are exposed to (IGR) (S)-methoprene will never develop into the adult jumping, biting and (most important) reproducing fleas. FRONTLINE flea and tick treatment effectively targets all stages of fleas and ticks. Fipronil collects in the oils of the skin and hair follicles, and continues to be released from hair follicles onto the skin and coat, resulting in effective tick and flea control for long-lasting activity against fleas and ticks.
FRONTLINE Plus for Dogs is waterproof, since the active ingredient in FRONTLINE products is stored in the oil glands within the skin, from which it is continuously released onto dogs' fur, FRONTLINE flea and tick treatment remains truly waterproof for 30 days or longer. FRONTLINE is so gentle it is approved for use on puppies 8 weeks or older. It is also approved for breeding, pregnant and lactating dogs.
